It has achieved remarkable success, achieving 52 miles per gallon in the city through its hybrid version and an EPA-rated electric range of 239 kilometers when operated as an electric vehicle. Is it a fast car? Not exactly. Is it the ideal vehicle for speed enthusiasts? Probably not. However, if you value your hard-earned money and have a concern for the environment, this is an attractive option.

Kia has made several adjustments to the 2024 Kia Niro model for its mid-cycle refresh, which currently only applies to its hybrid and plug-in versions and not its fully electric version. The exterior features significant changes, including new lighting, a redesigned diamond grille, LED running lights in the Double-Chevron setting, and new 18- and 16-inch wheel designs.

Kia has recently released images of the digital gauge cluster for the 2024 Kia Niro electric vehicle, as well as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be upgraded to a 10.3-inch display. We’re particularly excited about the optional paddle shifters, which will allow drivers to control the regenerative braking strength of the Niro.
The base FE model has a simplistic interior design, with a heavy reliance on fabric and plastic materials. The EX model, on the other hand, features part-leather seats as standard, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control with separate controls for the driver and front passenger.

Unlike some other vehicles that have been converted from gasoline to hybrid power, the 2024 Kia Niro was designed from the ground up to be a hybrid, so the cargo space isn’t compromised by the battery pack.
Specification
The Nonhybrid 2024 Kia Niro features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, which works in tandem with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This powertrain produces a total of 139 horsepower, and during our testing, the Niro FE was able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.6 seconds, putting it on par with many of its competitors.
We also tested the loaded Touring model, which weighed in at 168 pounds more due to extra equipment, and it took 9.6 seconds to achieve the same task. The Niro Plug-in Hybrid uses the same powertrain as the standard hybrid model but comes with a larger battery pack to extend its electric-only range.
According to the EPA, the battery pack provides up to 26 miles of electric-only operation. Kia claims that the Niro EV comes standard with DC fast-charging capability that can recharge 80% of the battery in just 75 minutes, but we haven’t had the opportunity to test this claim. The 2024 Kia Niro handles uneven roads with ease, providing a controlled and comfortable ride.

This 2024 Kia Niro boasts excellent fuel efficiency with minimal sacrifices, and it’s also affordable. We recommend going with the mid-level LX trim, which builds upon the spartan base model with added features such as roof rails, push-button start, rear LED taillights, and folding armrests for the second row.
