Features
The 2024 Lexus ES sedan from Lexus has been given a much-needed upgrade for the 2024 model year. The addition of a touchscreen to the infotainment system has been a long-awaited change, and the removal of the cumbersome remote control is sure to be appreciated by drivers.
The new touchscreen is also conveniently located closer to the front of the dashboard, making it easier to access. Additionally, the ES now features standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and the headlights have been upgraded to bi-LED technology. Furthermore, gasoline models have the option of adding a Dynamic Handling Package, while hybrid models can opt for the F Sport trim.
Exterior and Interior
The 2024 Lexus ES has been updated with even more standard safety features. The midsize sedan now comes equipped with rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot detection, further expanding upon the car’s impressive list of safety technologies, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
The ES Hybrid also benefits from the Lexus Safety System 2.5 package, which now includes intersection turning assist and other advanced features. The ES has a unique and sporty appearance that is sure to turn heads. While some may debate the sedan’s aggressive design, there is no denying its distinctiveness. The spindle grille, a signature feature of all Lexus models, dominates the front of the 2024 Lexus ES and sets the tone for the car’s bold lines.
Specification
The 2024 Lexus ES lineup is available in three primary models: ES 250, ES 350, and ES 300h. The ES 250 is equipped with a four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, while the ES 350 is powered by a V6 engine, and the ES 300h features a hybrid powertrain. The ES 300h and 350 are exclusively available with front-wheel drive.
All models come with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, except for the hybrid, which features a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The base engine is a 2.5-liter three-cylinder that generates 203 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2024 Lexus ES also comes standard with all-wheel drive. The next step up is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 302 horsepower and offers much quicker acceleration than the four-cylinder engine. Surprisingly, Lexus offers the V6 engine with front-wheel drive only, which we think is an odd business decision. All-wheel drive would significantly enhance the V6 engine’s appeal.
