2024 Kia EV6 Release Date, Colors, Price – The 2024 Kia EV6 deserves a double-tap, a thumbs-up, an upvote, or any other social media cliche that applies. Despite Kia’s introduction of its first sporty electric vehicle just a year ago, this car is already causing a stir online due to its bold and daring design.
Features
However, what lies beneath the surface is equally impressive: an advanced 800-volt electric vehicle platform capable of rapid charging up to 240 kilowatts. While these technical details may not garner as much attention on Instagram, this forward-thinking powertrain technology – along with its diverse power and capacity options – means the 2024 Kia EV6 offers a little bit of everything for everyone. It is a swift contender in this rapidly growing market.
Exterior and Interior
In person, the 2024 Kia EV6 is as striking as it appears online. The sleek LED headlights and signature “tiger nose” grille pay homage to other Kia models like the K5, while the distinctive LED light bar and tapered rear end set it apart as truly unique. The GT-Line’s sharp 20-inch wheels add to its appeal.
This is Kia’s most visually appealing vehicle to date. However, one drawback of the interior setup is the lack of physical volume and tuning knobs. Despite Kia’s replacement of them with a steering wheel-mounted volume rocker that functions adequately, the traditional approach remains superior.
Additionally, instead of physical buttons for climate control, Kia added an unnecessarily complicated touchbar at the base of the center console, which is difficult to use without taking your eyes off the road, 2024 Kia EV6. The heating and cooling functions also employ touch-sensitive buttons at the end of the center console, yet another excessive feature that could have benefited from actual controls.
Specification
The entry-level version of the EV6 is the base Mild variant, equipped with a 58-kilowatt-hour battery pack capable of producing 167 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is the sole configuration for this model. The EV6 Wind, on the other hand, features a larger 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack delivering 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque in the rear-wheel drive setup, or 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque in all-wheel drive configuration, thanks to an additional motor on the front axle.
At the top of the EV6 lineup is the variant I had the opportunity to drive: the GT-Line. It utilizes the same 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack and shares the same specifications as the mid-range Wind model – 225 horsepower with rear-wheel drive or 320 horsepower with all-wheel drive (AWD).
The GT-Line showcases sportier design elements, including larger 20-inch wheels and the aforementioned faux-suede seats. And that’s all there is to it. On the road, the 2024 Kia EV6 is an absolute delight. It is refined, smooth, and quiet, with only a slight amount of road noise coming from the larger tires.
2024 Kia EV6 Release Date and Price
The 2024 Kia EV6 with the larger 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack is priced at $50,000 for rear-wheel drive and $54,000 for all-wheel drive. As for the GT-Line, that will set you back a minimum of $55,000 for rear-wheel drive or $59,000 for all-wheel drive. Despite the abundance of electric crossovers in the market, the Kia EV6 stands out. This vehicle is stylish, sufficiently sporty, and incorporates some of the most advanced battery technology available.
